Composer Mohammed Fairouz was the Composer in Residence for the MTSU Wind Band conference and his Symphony No. 4 “In the Shadow of No Towers” was be featured during the Middle Tennessee State Wind Ensemble concert on February 7th. We were able to interview him before the concert and here are some of his comments from that interview:
After he had decided to accept a commission for a piece from the University of Kansas Wind Ensemble he drew inspiration from Art Spiegelman’s comic book by the same name.

Mohammed Fairouz's Symphony No. 4 “In the Shadow of No Towers will be performed by the MTSU Wind Ensemble tonight at 8:00 in the Hinton Hall of the Wright Music Building as a part of the MTSU Wind Band Conference.
