More good economic news for Tennessee

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  Tennessee’s unemployment rate continues to fall.

A new report from the state Department of Labor shows the jobless rate down to 5.8 percent in May. That’s a drop of two-tenths from the April reading.

Tennessee’s unemployment rate remains above the national rate which currently stands at 5.5 percent.

The state added 10,000 jobs in May. The increases came in hospitality, education, health services, and transportation.

The May jobless rate of 5.8 percent is the loss unemployment number Tennessee has seen sin the spring of 2008.
