MTSU Backup QB Arrested for Burglary

MURFREESBORO — A Middle Tennessee State University football player has been suspended following his arrest on burglary charges.

The Daily News Journal reports that 19 year-old MTSU backup quarterback Shaun White was arrested last week for aggravated burglary, vandalism and theft under $500. White’s former girlfriend, Paula Demings, was charged with vandalism in connection with the same incident.

Murfreesboro Police say White and Demings got into an argument over their relationship and Demings threw White out of the home they were sharing, dumping some of his belongings into a ditch.

White told police Demings still had some of his belongings and he broke into her home to get them back. They were both arrested and booked into the Rutherford County Jail. Both have court dates May 16.

MTSU head coach Rick Stockstill suspended White from the team for the semester, and says his status may be evaluated again later.

Three other MTSU football players were arrested by Murfreesboro Police back in February. Charges in that case ranged from disorderly conduct to resisting arrest. The team tells WMOT News the players were disciplined over the incident but the details have not been disclosed.
