MTSU campus briefly locked down Thursday morning

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  Campus police report there was a shots fired incident on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University overnight.

The campus was locked down just after midnight Thursday morning. Students, faculty, and staff were wakened by an automated alert advising them to shelter in place.

A second message issuing an all-clear was sent to the campus community 90 minutes later.

MTSU Police report shots were fired near the Murphy Center. No other details have been made available.
