MTSU Farmer Market open TodaO

The MTSU Student Farmers Market will be open from noon to 2 p.m., Friday, June 13, at the Horticulture Center on Lightning Way across from the Tennessee Livestock Center.  We are also inviting people out to the Farm on Tuesday, June 17th from 8:30am to 10:30am to view the gardens, meet the gardeners, and purchase vegetables.  A reminder and a map will be sent out for those interested.

Because of road construction at the intersection of Champion and Lightning ways, people shopping at the farmers market should arrive via Blue Raider Drive on the north side of campus or MTSU Boulevard on the east side of campus. A printable campus map can be found at http://tinyurl.com/MTParkingMap12-13.

Available to customers will be onions, kale, strawberries, mustard greens, peas, potatoes, garlic, kohlrabi, yellow squash, basil, a small amount of broccoli, and carrots. HONEY from the MTSU farm also will be available.  We will also have some native perennials and shrubs for sale.

The produce is grown and harvested by students, faculty and staff at the university’s farm and dairy in Lascassas, Tenn. All of what is being sold will be harvested Friday morning.
