MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT) -- A mid-state student has been arrested in connection with an alleged spring-break gang-rape that’s getting national media attention.
WMOT news partner Sidelines reports that Middle Tennessee State University freshman George Davon Kennedy was arrested at his family’s home in Georgia this week in connection with an assault in Panama City Beach, Florida in March.
Cell phone video of the incident can be seen online and shows a small crowd watching the assault unfold.
According to the Bay County Sheriff’s Office, Kennedy is being charged with sexual assault by multiple perpetrators.
Two Troy University students have also been charged in the case. Officials say Ryan Calhoun and Delonte Martistee have been arrested on the same charges.
The Sheriff’s Office tells CNN this isn’t an isolated incident. Several similar videotaped assaults have reportedly been discovered online.
