MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT) --  A student a Middle Tennessee State was pistol whipped during a robbery late Monday night.

Joshua J. Pope, 18, says he and his roommates were approached by three men at around 10 p.m. The men said their truck had broken down and asked if they could charge their cell phones to call for help.

But once in Pope’s apartment one of the men pulled out a pistol and demanded their money and belongings. The gunmen struck Pope in the head at one point and he ended up in the ER.

The robbers made off with $4500 in cash and an IPhone.

Police have at least one lead. One of the robbers ran off and left his phone charging in the apartment.
