MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT) -- A student at Middle Tennessee State University was struck and killed while crossing a Murfreesboro street Tuesday night.
A university official confirms that 20 year-old student Timothy R. Martin of Mt. Juliet was the person Murfreesboro Police say was struck on N. Rutherford Blvd at about 8:20 p.m.
Police say Martin was walking his bicycle across Rutherford when he was hit by a vehicle driven by Bejamin Conley of Murfreesboro.
Martin was rushed to Middle Tennessee Medical Center by the Rutherford County EMS where he was pronounced dead.
MPD’s Fatal Accident Crash Team is investigating, but a police spokesman says charges against the driver are not expected.
