MTSU Women drop a notch in C-USA Standings

MURFREESBORO, Tenn -- (WALKER) Another great shooting performance by the Middle Tennessee men's basketball squad helped them hold on to a close victory, beating Western Kentucky 68-66 yesterday afternoon.

Blue Raider freshman Giddy Potts again lead the team in scoring, dropping 22 points while connecting on four from beyond the arc. Junior Darnell Harris added 14 points and he also connected on 4 three pointers as well. Sophomore Reggie Upshaw Jr. rounded out the top scorers as he finished with 10 points.

MT now has won back-to-back games and will be looking to make it 3 in a row as they travel to Alabama to face UAB Saturday at 3 p.m.

With first place at stake in C-USA standings, the Lady Raider's rally wasn't enough as they lost a tight one to Western Kentucky 63-60 on Saturday.

Senior Cheyenne Parker led the Lady Raiders with 15 points, 9 rebounds and 5 blocks. Sophomore Olivia Jones chipped in with 13 points while Senior Shanice Cason added 12 points.

With the los, MT drop to second in the conference with a 12-3 record and will be looking for a bounce back win as they host UAB Saturday at 5 p.m at the Murphy Center.
