MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WALKER) -- A thriller in Houston isn't enough as Middle Tennessee men's basketball falls to Rice in double overtime.

Jaqawn Raymond lead the Blue Raiders in scoring with 16-points. Reggie Upshaw Jr. had a double-double adding 13-points and 13-rebounds, including a game-tying layup at the end of regulation.

MT had an opportunity to tie the game late in the second overtime period trailing by three. Raymond's attempted 3-pointer was blocked by Owls guard Marcus Jackson, who came up big for Rice dropping in 24 points.

The Blue Raiders fell to seventh in C-USA standings with a 6-6 conference record. They'll stay on the road and face North Texas on Valentine's Day.S

Senior forward Cheyenne Parker's big-time performance, with 29-points and 14-rebounds, lead the Lady Raiders to a 79-61 victory over Rice Thursday night.

Parker also set the single season record with 79 blocks passing Kay Wilbanks' 78 blocks in 1985.

Blue Raiders' sophomore Olivia Jones chipped in with 13-points, while senior guard Shanice Cason added 12-points and a season high five steals.

With the win, MT sits all alone in first with a 10-2 league record in C-USA.

The Lady Raiders will host North Texas on Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Murphy Center.
