Murf. Family of Four Loses Home to Overnight Fire

MFD

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  An overnight fire completely destroyed a Murfreesboro residence and left a family of three homeless.

The Murfreesboro Fire Department says it was dispatched to Belle Rive Drive just off Highway 99 on the southwest edge of town just before midnight Thursday night.

The department says it arrived to find the 2900 square foot home completely engulfed in flames. Most of the roof had already caved in by the time firefighters arrived.

No vehicles were seen in the drive or the garage, so Shift Commander Dale Maynard made the decision to not send a rescue team into the burning home.

The occupants, a father and three children, arrived back home as the fire was being put down. They did not request help from the Red Cross.

The city fire marshal has already started an investigation into what caused the blaze.
