Murf man shot dead, police asking for public's help solving the case

MPD

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  Police are asking for your help after a Murfreesboro man was shot dead Friday night.

The Daily News Journal quotes the MPD saying officers were called to a small shopping center on East Northfield Boulevard after witnesses reported hearing gunshots.

They discovered 58-year-old Fausto Hernandez slumped over a rock in the field next to the stores with a gunshot wound. He was sent to Vanderbilt Medical Center where he later died.

Police are distributing the surveillance camera photo seen above of a car taken at the scene near the time of gunshots.  The MPD says the driver is not a suspect in the shooting, but may have important details about the incident.

If you have any information about the shooting death of Fausto Hernandez call Murfreesboro Crime Stoppers at 615-893-STOP (7867).
