Murf Police Make Quick Arrest in Shooting Death

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP/WMOT) — Police made a quick arrest Tuesday in the shooting death of a Murfrreesboro man.

Twenty-three year old Christopher Turley died of a gunshot wound Tuesday morning at dawn near his home on E. Clark Blvd.

Tuesday afternoon Murfreesboro Police announced they’d arrested 22 year-old Anthony P. Smith, of Christiana in connection with the homicide. He’s been charged with first-degree murder in Turley’s death.

Smith's bond was set at $500,000. He’s due in court April 24.

A second person suffered minor injuries in the incident and was taken to a local hospital.

This is the fourth shooting death in Murfreesboro this year.
