Murf. police report a rash of aggravated burglaries

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  A rash of home, business, and auto burglaries made for a tough weekend for Murfreesboro property owners.

Murfreesboro Police report nine cases of Aggravated Burglary between Friday and Sunday. There were also seven cases of auto burglaries and one case of vehicle theft.

In a pair of incidents at an apartment complex on Warrior Drive, burglars gained access to a crawl space and broke into two neighboring apartments through their bathroom ceilings. The apartment owners claimed combined losses topping $8000 in that incident alone.

Items stolen included computers, large screen TVs, video game consoles, cell phones, and even a rug off the floor.

Murfreesboro Police reported a total of 64 burglaries in November of last year, a total of 745 for all of 2013. Burglaries in 2013 were down by 17 percent over 2012.
