Murf teen charged with Attempted First Degree Murder

RUCO

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  A 20-year-old woman was shot over the weekend and Murfreesboro Police believe they have the man responsible in custody.

Police say that during the noon hour Saturday they responded to shots fired calls from the 500 block of State Street. When they arrived officers found that 20-year-old Elizabeth A. Lamb of E. Castle Street had been shot.

Lamb was initially transported to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital but quickly transferred to Vanderbilt Medical Center. There’s no word on her condition.

Just before midnight Saturday police spotted an individual they believed was connected to the earlier shooting. When officers tried to stop 18-year-old LaJames L. Marable, police say he ran.

At one point during the foot pursuit, the incident report says Marable stopped and pointed a gun at an officer. That officer says he was preparing to fire at Marable when the teen turned a fled again.

Officers managed to tackle Marable shortly after and eventually found a gun they say he dropped during the chase.

LaJames Marable was arrested for Attempted First Degree Murder, Aggravated Assault, weapons possession by a felon, and a number of lesser charges.
