MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT) -- It’s not every day you hear a Valentine’s Day story that involves a stabbing, but this one does.
Murfreesboro Police report that one of their officers responded to a domestic disturbance call Thursday. When the officer arrived at the North Tennessee Blvd address he found a woman with a stab wound to her leg lying on the kitchen floor.
The police report says the woman and her live-in boyfriend had been arguing. The woman then reportedly picked up a knife and began stabbing a Valentine’s Day balloon she had received from her partner.
The woman continued to stab the balloon as it deflated and finally stabbed herself in the leg through the balloon.
The report concludes with the note that both the man and woman had been drinking.
