Murfreesboro car window shot out, bullet found in sofa

MPD

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  Murfreesboro residents are reporting damage to homes and cars following a pair of shots fired incidents.

Monday morning 68-year-old S. Bilbro resident Sarah J. Ogelsby called police to report that the passenger side window of her car had been shot out. A bullet fragment was found on the vehicle’s back seat.

Ogelsby told police she’d heard a shot fired in front of her home Sunday night.

Then early Tuesday morning 41-year-old William D. Cantrell called police to his Bridge Ave. home saying he’d heard shots fired nearby. Responding officers found three bullet holes in Cantrell’s home. One of those shots entered the home and lodged in his living room sofa.

Cantrell says after the shots were fired, he saw a red Ford Explorer or Expedition driving away toward Main Street.

Anyone with information about either incident should call Murfreesboro Crime Stoppers at 615-893-STOP. That’s 893-7867.
