Murfreesboro Courthouse Farmer's Market Opens Saturday

WMOT

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  Coming back for its fifth season, the Farmers Market on the Murfreesboro square opens Saturday.

As many as 57 vendors sell only Tennessee farm related products, including fresh meat, fresh produce, homemade breads, local honey and fresh-cut flowers.

Director Kathleen Herzog says the market gives people a sense of community.

“It’s a gorgeous setting. The courthouse is fabulous and vendors are all around the courthouse. It’s an explosion of the senses with so many colors, sights and sounds.”

Herzog says the market hopes to begin accepting EBT cards later this summer.

The market is open from 8 a.m. until noon and will run through the last Saturday of October.
