Murfreesboro man shot in the face, four arrrested

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  A Murfreesboro man was shot in the face Wednesday afternoon and police have arrested four men in connection with the case.

Police say they responded to a shots fired called at the basketball court at E. Lokey Ave. and Christy Ct. just before 1 p.m.

The first officer on the scene says he found Darryl Rouse suffering from what appeared to be a single gunshot wound to the face. Rouse was taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center by LifeFlight helicopter. Word of his condition has not yet been released.

Police quickly took four suspects into custody in connection with the case. Those four have now been arrested. They include Deante Lawrence, Devonte Lawrence, and Lamonte Johnson, all 20 years of age, and 18 year-old Walshaude Vaughter.

All four face a single charge of Especially Aggravated Robbery. Vaughter also faces a charge of Attempted First Degree Murder. They were booked into the Rutherford County Jail.

Police say they’re still looking for a fifth person in connection with the shooting.
