MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  A new reports says Middle Tennessee is home to two of the hottest real-estate markets in the nation.

WMOT reporting partner Wallethub.com just released a ranking of 2016’s top housing markets. The report compares data for sixteen metrics, including housing affordability, home price appreciation and job growth.

The Murfreesboro real-estate market cracked the top ten, coming in fourth. Nashville ranked 14th in the nation. None of Tennessee’s other major cities made the lists’ top half.

Wallethub’s Jill Gonzalez says one of the reasons Middle Tennessee’s housing market is booming is because its managed to tap into pent up first home demand for Millenials.

“A lot of student loan debt and those things are really pushing into not buying homes as quickly as other generations have seen in the past. So that really has driven the home market down in many cities, but these fast growing cities – Nashville is one of them, and the surrounding areas – are seeing quite the opposite.”

Texas is the nation’s leading real-estate market, with six of the top ten hottest markets located in The Longhorn State. Frisco, Texas, a Dallas suburb, ranked first in the nation on the Wallethub list.
