SYNOPSIS:
Music City Baroque presents a chamber music concert entitled “Giving Thanks,” that will serve to usher in the holiday season, on Sunday, November 18 at 3:00 p.m. at Church of the Holy Trinity, 615 Sixth Ave. South, Nashville. The program includes a varied selection of music that includes familiar, traditional Christmas music set in the Baroque style, in the lovely acoustics and beautiful Gothic architecture of an historic church, built in 1852. Admission at the door is $10 ($5 for students and seniors), and canned goods for those in need will be accepted for donation to Second Harvest.
Music City Baroque, now in its ninth season, offers ensemble and chamber music of the 17th and 18th centuries played on period instruments, in the style the composers would have heard, with all its original color and passion. Performers are drawn from members of the Nashville Symphony and faculties of the schools of music at Vanderbilt, MTSU and Belmont.
