Nashville-to-Memphis flights coming; first time since 2013

iflysouthern.com

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Travelers going between Nashville and Memphis will have the opportunity to fly commercial for the first time in three years beginning next month.

Southern Airways says in a news release it will fly between the two cities every day except Saturday beginning Sept. 26. Southern also will offer continuing service to Jackson, Mississippi, with a total flight time of less than three hours.

Travelers will use executive terminals where they won't go through Transportation Security Administration screenings. That means they need only arrive 25 minutes before their flights.

Passengers will undergo electronic background checks when they purchase tickets. There may also be random security checks before flights.

This is the first service connecting Nashville International Airport to Memphis International Airport since Delta Air Lines discontinued its service in 2013.
