DECATURVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Deputy District Attorney General Jennifer Nichols of Shelby County has been appointed to prosecute the Decatur County case involving the 2011 kidnapping and killing of a Tennessee woman, Holly Bobo.

Media report Decatur County Circuit Court Judge Creed McGinley on Tuesday approved the selection of Nichols by the Tennessee District Attorneys General Conference.

Nichols was assisting prosecutor Matt Stowe with the case, but Stowe requested a special prosecutor after a dispute arose between him and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

Twenty-year-old nursing student Holly Bobo disappeared from outside her Decatur County home in April 2011. Three men have been charged in the case.
