MURFREESBORO, Tenn (WMOT) -- Murfreesboro Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect in connection with an assault that took place in February at a MTSU fraternity party.
In a statement to police, 24 year-old Fayetteville, Tenn., resident Logan William Horton says that early on the morning of February 19 he was assaulted while attending a party at the Middle Tennessee State University chapter of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity house.
Horton says that he and a friend were asked to leave the party at around 1:30 a.m., but before they could do so they were surrounded and attacked by a group of young men he described as “frats.” Horton says one of those men struck him in the face several times.
Later that day, Horton says he sought treatment for injuries sustained during the fight at the Lincoln County Hospital. Doctors eventually transferred him to the Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville where Horton says he underwent surgery to repair two broken bones in his jaw.
Murfreesboro Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect in the case. The man being sought is a white male, approximately 20 years of age, six feet tall, and weighing roughly 240 pounds.
The suspect may be a student at MTSU and is possibly a member of a local fraternity.
