Police: Couple confesses to killing, hiding bodies in closet

MNP

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Police say a Nashville couple has confessed to killing a young couple and then hiding their bodies in the apartment the two couples had shared.

Nashville Metro Police told local media outlets Monday that 20-year-old Brandon Griswold and his 21-year-old girlfriend, Whitney Gray, have told investigators that they bludgeoned 24-year-old Preston Claybrooks Jr. and his longtime girlfriend, 23-year-old Alexandra Grubbs, to death while they slept. Police say a lingering dispute involving heroin use led to the attack in the east Nashville home.

Investigators believe the suspects continued to live in the apartment for days after committing their crimes, with the victims' bodies hidden in a closet until they were found Sunday morning.

Claybrooks and Grubbs will each face two counts of criminal homicide. It's unclear whether they have attorneys.
