Police say sex offender living in Murf. home with teen girl

TBI

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  Murfreesboro Police have arrested a registered sex offender who was living in the same home with a minor.

Yesterday police tracked 42-year-old registered sex offender James D. Kasiah to a home on Sunset Ave.  Kasiah reportedly told police that he was sleeping on the couch there.

Authorities say Kasiah had been warned previously that sex offender restrictions prevented him from living at that address.

While speaking with Kasiah, officers discovered that a 16-year-old girl was also living in the home, a further violation of sex offender restrictions.

A police report says Kasiah was read his rights, but then agreed to speak to police. Kasiah reportedly admitted to knowing he wasn’t supposed to be living at that address.

James Kasiah was booked into the Rutherford County Jail on four counts of sex offender registry violations and a $10,000 bond. He has an initial court appearance March 18, 2015, in Rutherford County General Sessions Court.
