--  Last month, Shezanne Cassim  – a 29-year-old American man living in the United Arab Emirates – was sentenced to one year in jail over a satirical video he posted online. New York Times Middle East correspondent BEN HUBBARD unpacks the case and explores what it says about the climate for culture and particularly satire in the country.
