Potts secures Middle Tennessee's 67-66 win over FIU

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) — Giddy Potts split a pair of free throws and pulled down a rebound with one second left to secure Middle Tennessee's 67-66 win over Florida International on Saturday night.

Potts hit four 3-pointers and totaled 15 points. Perrin Buford led Middle Tennessee (17-6, 9-2 Conference USA) with 16 points.

The Blue Raiders, who have won nine of their last 10 games, had a 33-30 lead at the break but were trailing 54-45 when Darnell Harris, who made all nine of his points in the final seven minutes, nailed a 3-pointer to start a 21-8 run and give the Blue Raiders a 66-62 advantage with 1:12 remaining.

Adrian Diaz and Daviyon Draper scored back-to-back layups to tie at 66 with eight seconds left. Potts then made the free throw for the win.

Draper led FIU (11-13, 5-6) with 25 points.
