Quick arrests in Murf. armed robbery

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  It took Murfreesboro Police just ten minutes to take three men into custody in connection with an armed robbery reported early Thursday morning.

An officer patrolling through the College Grove Apartments on Lascassas just after 1 a.m. was flagged down by 22-year-old Galvan Wilson who told them he’d just been robbed.

Wilson quickly gave the officer detailed descriptions of three black males driving a white Mustang he says pulled up, threatened him with a silver handgun, and demanded his money.

Ten minutes later a second patrol officer stopped a white mustang a couple of miles away at the corner of North Rutherford and MTSU Blvd. No gun was found in the car, but a K-9 unit found two weapons along the roadside nearby, including a silver handgun.

The three men charged in the case are 20-year-old Artavious J. Dowell, 21-year-old Deante T. Taylor, and 21-year-old Quavante L. Kenndy. All three men were charged with Aggravated Robbery, Theft, and Possession of Handgun during a Felony.

All three will make initial appearances in General Sessions Court in early June.
