MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  Police took a Murfreesboro man into custody over the weekend on rape and incest charges.

Police say they arrested 40 year-old Murfreesboro resident Chadwick S. Rutledge of Salem Cove on 10 counts of rape, 10 counts of incest and 10 counts of statutory rape by an authority figure.

Police say the investigation into the case began back in April when the victim disclosed, “years of sexual, physical and emotional abuse starting when she was 12 years old.”

The report says criminal findings were presented to the October Grand Jury and indictments were returned on the charges.

Rutledge was arrested Friday and booked into the Rutherford County Jail.
