RuCo Ex-middle school coach indicted on statutory rape charges

RCSO

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) — A former Middle Tennessee middle school volleyball coach has been indicted on charges of statutory rape and other counts.

The Rutherford County sheriff's office says 40-year-old Brandon LaDuc of Murfreesboro is accused of three counts of statutory rape by an authority figure and two counts of sexual touching by an authority figure. LaDuc is a former coach at Siegel Middle School. The allegations involve a 16-year-old girl at another school.

Rutherford County Schools Community Relations Coordinator James Evans said LaDuc was placed on unpaid suspension as soon as the investigation began last spring and resigned during the summer.

LaDuc is free on $50,000 bond and is scheduled to be in court Monday.
