RuCo man arraigned Monday in connection with spring shootings of 2 MTSU students

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  A Rutherford County man will be arraigned Monay on charges that he attempted to murder two Middle Tennessee State students in April.

Earlier this month a Rutherford County Grand Jury returned four counts of Attempted First Degree Murder and six counts of Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon against Jakeil Lindsey.

Murfreesboro Police arrested Lindsey in May for the April shooting of two MTSU students at University Gables Apartments. Police says when they arrived on the scene they found 19-year-old student Dartavious Brettenum lying in the parking lot. He had been shot several times.

Also wounded was 19-year-old Travious Miller. Both men were flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center by Life Flight helicopter. Both have since recovered from their wounds.

At the time of his arrest, Lindsey was charged with just two counts of murder and 2 counts of assault. It’s unclear why additional charges were added to the indictment.
