Rutherford County man wanted on multiple sex related charges arrested

TBI

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  A Rutherford County man placed on Tennessee’s Most Wanted List in connection with multiple sex related charges has been arrested in Florida.

Edward Willian Tarras Jr. was placed on the most wanted list by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation last summer. The TBI says 39-year-old Tarras is wanted by the Smyrna Police Department after failing to appear in court to face some two dozen charges, including Rape, Sexual Battery, and Especially Aggravated Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.

In August of last year, Tarras cut off a police tracking ankle braclet and fled the state.

A joint investigation involving Smyrna Police, the TBI, New Jersey State Police, and several U.S. Marshals office recently located Tarras in New Port Richey, Florida. He’s being held without bond in the Pasco County, Florida Detention Center.

The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office has placed a hold on Fugitive from Justice Edward W. Tarras Jr.
