Skateboard Inspired Road Rage Incident in Murf.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  -- Murfreesboro Police are reporting an unusual confrontation that could have turned tragic.

Police received a phone call Monday night from a motorist saying that several young people were skateboarding in the road on Spring Street.

When police responded they found the skateboarders, but not the motorist who called in the report.

The skateboarders told police they got into a verbal altercation with the driver. They reported that as the driver left she swerved her car toward one young man, crushing his skateboard and grazing his leg with the car’s bumper.

At that point the driver, 28 year-old Christa N. Parker of E. Main, arrived back on the scene. She denied having swerved toward the skateboarders.

But then Parker’s uncle, who was riding with her in the car at the time, confirmed for police the skateboarder’s version of the story, saying his niece had swerved the car toward the riders.

Parker was arrested on a charge of Aggravated Assault. Police say that before she was booked into the Rutherford County Jail she was taken to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital for a Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome evaluation.

Parker will make her initial court appearance on June 16, 2014.
