Southwest Takes Off With Goodwill Job Fair

The Goodwill Career Solutions center at 2731 Lebanon Pike in Nashville’s Donelson neighborhood will host a job fair from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on three consecutive days, March 24-26, for Southwest Airlines, which seeks to fill 38 positions at Nashville International Airport.

Available positions include 30 ramp agents, who work outside organizing and stacking luggage as well as cargo, and eight operations agents, who work at the gate, assuring weight and balance of aircraft and efficiently boarding passengers. Both positions are scheduled for 30 hours per week but carry full benefits, and more hours are likely. Pay rates start at up to $10.28 per hour for ramp agents and $10.63 per hour for operations agents, topping out in 10 years at more than $25 per hour. Mandatory overtime is paid double.

Representatives from Southwest Airlines will be on site, so job-seekers should dress for success, be prepared to complete applications and to interview. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license. Job candidates are encouraged to bring a resume, photo ID, Social Security card or birth certificate.
