MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  -- If you’re anxious to see winter 2014 come to an end, you don’t have long to wait.

Spring officially begins in a little over a week on March 20.

The National Weather Service has released its official forecast for the upcoming season.  Brittney Coleman, a meteorologist in the Nashville office, says the forecast is mostly good news for Middle Tennessee.

“As far as temperatures go, it looks like we’re expecting around normal temperatures for the next three month, and above normal temperatures for the southern portions of Middle Tennesse. As far as precipitation goes, it’s going to be above normal for the next three months.”

Old Man Winter apparently doesn’t intend to go without a fight. After hitting a high in the mid-70s today, we’ll be back down in the 20s by tomorrow night.
