tnscore.org/

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  An influential reform group is set to release its third annual report tomorrow morning on the state of education in Tennessee.

The State Collaborative on Reforming Education (SCORE) is the brain-child of former Tennessee Senator and Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist.

SCORE Director David Mansouri says the report will cover three areas. It will underline progress to date toward improving student achievement marks, examine the changes SCORE believes contributed to those gains, and identify areas the organization thinks should be priorities going  forward.

Mansouri says the report contains a lot of good news for the state’s students and their parents.

“Students in Tennessee, really, have seen the most academic progress in the state’s history really. So it comes at a kind of really unique time and we’re excited to see this report tomorrow.”

"Panelists who helped compile the report include Beth Harwell, Speaker of the Tennessee House of Representatives; Kevin Huffman, Tennessee Commissioner of Education; and Allyson Chick, Tennessee’s 2012-13 Teacher of the Year.
