Student prank brings a hazmat team to the MTSU campus

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)   --  Campus Police and the Murfreesboro Fire Department Hazmat Team responded Tuesday to a suspicious package discovered on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University.

School officials say that at about 8 a.m. Tuesday morning a suspicious bucket was discovered in a courtyard near the Aerospace building.

The sealed, white, two-gallon bucket reportedly had the phrase "Do Not Open - Ebola" written on its side.

A university spokesman says it was eventually determined the bucket was a student prank and the liquid in found inside was harmless.

The campus wide alerted issued in response to the incident has now been lifted.
