NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WMOT) -- A new study says Tennessee’s Hispanic community is surprisingly well integrated.
Wallethub.com compared 17 metrics including English proficiency, educational attainment and economic success and ranked Tennessee 10th in the nation.
Tennessee Hispanics scored well in cultural integration and educational success, but Wallethub’s Jill Gonzalzes says economic integration is a work in progress.
“We looked at the poverty rate among Hispanics. Tennessee had the fifth highest in the country at around 20 percent of all Hispanics living below the poverty line,” Gonzalez said.
