Suspect in Dozens of Home Burglaries Arrested After High Speed Chase, Crash

Rutherford County Sheriff's Office

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  Investigators with the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office believe they’ve captured the thief responsible for as many as 30 home burglaries in Rutherford and Wilson counties.

Murfreesboro resident Keith Churchill, 31, was arrested in the case last Friday.

Police say Churchill was apprehended following a high speed chase that ended with the suspect crashing into another vehicle at the corner of Couchville Pike and Weakley Lane. An unnamed person in the struck vehicle reportedly suffered minor injuries in the crash and was transported to a local hospital.

Officials say they’ve recovered more than $25,000 worth of stolen weapons, jewelry and antiques. Sheriff’s deputies report that a number of items were recovered from the suspect’s car and home.

The Sheriff’s Office says the investigation is ongoing. They believe it’s likely Churchill will be linked to additional home break-ins, including unsolved burglaries in Canon and Williamson counties.

Churchill is currently being held in the Rutherford County Detention Center.
