WASHINGTON (AP/WMOT) — Tennessee Senator Lamar Alexander says he’s going to introduce a bill that would require president Obama to provide weekly reports on administration efforts to fix the troubled health marketplace website.
In a press statement released yesterday, Alexander accused the administration of failing to provide timely information about problems the site is experiencing.
For his part, the president is appealing to his allies in Congress, on Wall Street and across the country to support the health care law despite the embarrassing problems with the site.
Now that the government shutdown is over, there's increased focus on the website's rollout and more pressure on Democrats to distance themselves from its problems.
Obama recorded a video message yesterdayday telling supporters of an Obama-aligned nonprofit group, Organizing for America, that he needs their help and has people working overtime to fix the website.
