Tennessean wins $500,000 'Super Bowl' of bass fishing

WARTBURG, Tenn. (AP) — A Morgan County man who chose fishing over a pharmacy career has won the biggest prize in bass fishing, the $500,000 Forrest Wood Cup.

Brad Knight told the Knoxville News Sentinel (http://bit.ly/1IsWhNS) bass fishing at first gave him some good years and some lean ones.

For a while, his wife, Becky, worked in nursing and took care of their baby daughter while he travelled the circuit solo. Then last year, the couple decided to go all in, with Becky Knight managing the business details while her husband fished.

This year's first place win justified that decision. Brad Knight says the prize money will pay off his house and his daughter's future college education.

Perhaps best of all, it means he can keep fishing.
