Tennessee Congressman offers up Obamacare replacement plan

house.gov

WASHINGTON, Tenn. (WMOT) --  A Tennessee lawmaker says he has just the plan President-Elect Donald Trump needs to repeal the Affordable Care act, better known as Obamacare.

The Tennessean says U.S. Rep. Phil Roe, a Johnson City physician, wrote the plan nearly four years ago. It was hailed then by conservatives but stalled in the House.

The plan would create bigger insurance tax deductions, include coverage for individuals with pre-existing conditions, allow consumers to purchase policies across state lines, and eliminate all federal funding for abortions.

Roe tells the newspaper he expects the plan to get a serious look from Trump and his team.
