NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A Tennessee man is accused of threatening to kill President Barack Obama, former presidential candidate Mitt Romney, former vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan, and others.
According to an affidavit filed by prosecutors in Nashville on Friday, Jimmie Johnson Jr. called the Tennessee Office of Homeland Security three times July 11 and again July 12, leaving profanity-filled voicemail messages.
The affidavit says the messages include threats against Obama and others saying that Johnson will "blow them all up," and "come with an AK and kill all you (vulgarity)." A message refers to Obama by a racial slur.
The affidavit says Johnson made the calls from his cellphone and identified himself by name. He is charged with misdemeanor harassment.
Court records don't list an attorney for Johnson. He's jailed on a $5,000 bond.
