Tennessee Trade Mission to China, South Korea

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A state trade mission to China and South Korea in April will focus on Tennessee's medical device manufacturers and other health care companies.

The state announced yesterday that Commissioner Bill Hagerty of the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development will lead the April trip.

"What TNtrade is meant to do is do is boost export by small and medium sized businesses. The state has not been in export promotion recently and we think this a great opportunity to grow jobs here in the state and cause Tennessee companies to become more integrated into the global economy."

Also on the mission will be approximately 10 medical device manufacturers and representatives of other health care companies on visits to Beijing and Shenzhen in China and Seoul, South Korea.

Participants will attend the China Internation al Medical Equipment Fair, the largest exhibition of medical equipment and related products and services in the Asia-Pacific region.

The trip is part of a recently announced  initiative called TNTrade designed to help boost exports by the state's small- and medium-sized businesses.
