CORRECTED: Tenn. Congressional Delegation Mostly Millionaires

congress.gov

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  A new study says that for the first time most members of Congress are millionaires, and Tennessee’s delegation is no exception.

The non-partisan Center for Responsive Politicscreated the report based on required, yearly financial disclosures.

Rep. Diane Black and Senator Lamar Alexander are the wealthiest members of the Tennessee delegation.

Black may be worth as much as $69 million dollars, depending on the stock market, thanks in large measure to her husband’s business interests.

Alexander has assets valued at more than $9.8 million.

Just three members of Tennessee’s 11 member congressional delegation have assets of less than $1 million, including East Tennessee’s John Duncan, along with Middle Tennessee’s Scott DesJarlais and Marsha Blackburn.

Representative Darrell Issa of California tops the list, reporting assets of more than $330 million dollars.
