MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  After falling steadily in recent months, Tennessee’s unemployment rate has ticked back up again.

Tennessee’s jobless rate has fallen nearly two full percentage points in the past 12 months. Dropping from 8.4 percent in June, 2013.

Total nonfarm employment in June decreased by 2600 jobs across the state, with the losses coming primarily in construction, government and service sectors.

Over the past year Tennessee has created more than 53,000 jobs with the most new positions created in the professional services, leisure and hospitality, and the transportation and utility sectors.
