MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT) -- Murfreesboro residents are used to traffic being heavy around the Middle Tennessee State campus, but things might get especially hectic Friday morning.
Locally owned Wilson Bank and Trust will be giving away $20 worth of free gas to the first 200 customers to show up at the Shell station located at the corner of Greenland Drive and Middle Tennessee Blvd. beginning at 11 a.m.
Wilson Bank and Trust Regional President Barry Buckley says the promotion is intended to highlight the lower banking fees generally charged by community banks.
“This is just a way for us to go out in the community and give back to the community money that normally the big banks would be taking in fees where we in essence are giving it back.”
Wilson Bank and trust is locally owned with branches in seven mid-state counties and headquartered in Lebanon.
The free gas giveaway begins at 11 a.m. at the Shell station on the corner of Greenland Drive and Middle Tennessee Blvd tomorrow morning. The first 200 customers will get $20 worth free gas.
Buckley says Murfreesboro Police will be on hand to direct traffic.
