MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT) – Mid-State police are on the lookout for a woman suspected of shooting two people in Murfreesboro.
WSMV-TV reports police believe that Anita Nichols fired several shots into a Raiders Ridge apartment yesterday morning, striking two women.
Officials say Nichols waited outside the apartment for the women to return home and then fired shots through a back door.
One victim was shot in the shoulder, while the other was shot in the leg.
Police say the incident followed an argument between the women earlier in the day. They believe Nichols left, but returned later with a gun.
One of the shooting victims was taken by life-flight helicopter to Vanderbilt Medical Center. Her condition was initially listed as critical. The second woman had less serious injuries and was taken to Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital where her condition was listed as stable.
