War of 1812 Bicentennial to be Discussed on WMOT-FM

Dr. Carroll Van West, director of the Center for Historic Preservation, will discuss the bicentennial of the start of the War of 1812 on “MTSU on the Record” with host Gina Logue at 5:30 p.m. Monday, April 19, and 8 a.m. Sunday, April 25, on WMOT-FM (89.5 and wmot.org).

West, who organized a March 17 symposium on the subject at the Nashville Public Library, will cover the causes of the conflict, Andrew Jackson’s role in it, how Native Americans were affected and Tennessee’s role in the conflict.
